Abstract: The « French Conrads » represent a world in a shipwreck at the end of the 1930s. These foreign authors choosing France as their homeland of heart contributed to a breath of fictional renewal in French literature, both thanks to the themes addressed than to a new use of the language. Yet many are forgotten today. Missing link of our memorial representations, they allow us to better understand this pivotal period, historically and literally.
