Abstract: From the second half of the 20th century, traveling is a practice that finds its critical germs and spiritual impetus in rebellious literature. The French free press magazine Actuel promotes this theme. But the promised road becomes a highway for a predatory Western youth, who carries everywhere its neurosis and fantasies. J.-Fr. Bizot novel Les Années Blanches (1979) narrates the early deterioration of this elsewhere imaginary.
