Abstract: Although Tristes Tropiques (1955) by Lévi-Strauss is often considered as a possible “ending” of Travel writing, this volume aims to show that the “genre” renews itself in its most contemporary productions, be it formally, mediatically or stylistically – while drawing from rhetorical, enunciative and thematic resources which originated in the Romantic period, when it “entered” literature.
