Abstract: To examine Beckett’s production of a knot called sinthomatic in psychoanalysis requires adjusting our thesis to the author’s project of abstracting. This nodal production is unfolded here locally, by focusing on the points of articulation between Lacan’s symbolic, real and imaginary (R.S.I.) registers, which Beckett circumscribes rigorously. The result is a thesis according to which the work, in its temporality, is an enterprise involving the ‘fixion’ of an original Borromean knotting.
