Abstract:Texts for Nothing – comprising the “last little texts” which Beckett said “have finally managed to shut [him] up” – paradoxically give his bilingual œuvre its true voices. Rather than signifying the end of an unequalled creative vein and signalling an impasse in his career as a writer, these Texts exemplify an aesthetics of recommencement that is organically linked to the fundamental structure of bilingual composition.
