Abstract: Having been an unattractive prospect for a long time, the region of Nice has been represented in numerous ways, and in a range of very different registers, since it began to flourish, whether it is the county of Nice which is considered, the département, or the Riviera, a term which is almost always replaced by that of the Côte d’Azur. The evolution of all these writings holds a certain interest with regard to knowledge of the past, and cultural history.
