Abstract: This article focuses on Meslier’s conception of the relationship between religion and politics, analyzing the way Meslier translates the theological-political problem into the economic problem of inequality linked to property, understood as a consequence of the expropriation of work. He highlights the answers that this translation allows him to provide to the questions left open by the Foreword.
