Abstract: This article focuses, in a perspective of political history, on the Canton of Bern’s role in diffusing the Reformation from the German to the French-speaking area by dealing with the media used to create or enforce protestant movements as well as with the importance of the institutional and military actions in order to reform the French-speaking area of Switzerland.
