Abstract: This introduction presents the proceedings of the international conference organized in Geneva in 2017 and the current trends in research on the first international diffusion of the Reformation. This collection highlights the multiple dynamics, both international and local, of religious confrontations, starting from or linked to the territories of French-speaking Switzerland. The contributions open to a renewed understanding of continuities and ruptures that occurred during the “Luther’s age”.
