Abstract: This paper emphasizes Guillaume Farel’s importance in the introduction of reformed doctrine in French-speaking Switzerland. Since 1526 Farel abandoned his Meaux associates, and found new ones in Zwingli, Bucer, Capito and Œcolampadius, These German-speaking Reformers were instrumental in shaping Farel’s early publications, particularly the Summaire and the Maniere et Fasson, which served as the earliest guides to theology and liturgy in the Protestant Francophone churches of Romandie.
