Abstract: The recent discovery of an unknown exemplar from the original edition of Robert’s Motets in Dresden sheds a fascinating light on the circulation of French religious music in Europe. Analysing the features of the source, we take into account the religious and political context as well as the circulation of French musicians to better understand this musical transfer.
