Abstract: By comparing two exemplars of the Graduale Cenomanense (1515) –one is spotless while the second has been annotated and transformed during two centuries–, this paper brings to light the users’ tactics in transforming printed chant. In that respect, these books show that village cantors were able to experience a certain movement of taste and repertory.
