Abstract: This paper is dedicated to the assimilation of Rameau’s music by three Church musicians: Grénon (Clermont), Denoyé (Strasbourg) and Danigo (Vannes). Their compositions are considered with the aim of comparing several ways to relocate into provincial churches a music originally from Paris and intended to the opera.
