Le christianisme dans l’oeuvre de Michel Houellebecq

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: L’Unité de l’œuvre de Michel Houellebecq
  • Author: Hladki (Pawel)
  • Abstract: References to religion can be found throughout the fiction, poetry and essays of Michel Houellebecq. Unlike his consistently critical treatment of Islam, the author treats Christianity in a more ambiguous way. This article examines how Houellebecq considers the latter thematically and stylistically in his work and reveals how his vision of Christianity has evolved between his early essay on H.P. Lovecraft and La carte et le territoire.
