Abstract: This article examines 11 French Prose Bruts that have different owners and are kept in several London libraries. The quantity and diversity of these Bruts are such that it is almost impossible to gain a clear view of these texts without studying them one by one. Among the 11 manuscripts studied in the present paper, six contain only the “Brut” and five are compilations in which the text is kept together with other works whose content is sometimes very far from the “Brut”.
