Abstract: The collapse of the Soviet Union eliminated the institutions and authorities in charge of the history of construction. Some isolated work on the use of reinforced concrete by Robert Maillard in Russia remains, as well as the work of researchers who emigrated to France on the European influence on Russian engineers. Protecting the heritage of the old Russia has led to new and promising research.
