Abstract: In Italy, the presence of academic disciplines strongly shaped the development of the history of construction. Despite the strong presence of Italian researchers in international conferences on the history of construction, cultural and academic divisions are the reason for the absence of a recognized, dedicated network on the national level. There is not yet a specific national association, although other associations have shown clear interest in this field of research.
