  • Abstract: In the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, doctrines pertaining to style are linked to the treatises (Artes praedicandi, Pontificale romanum by Guillaume Durand) that regulate discourse in various situations. The works of Machaut and Deschamps are impacted by them; in George Chastelain’s and Jean Molinet’s work, the influence of the first Italian humanists becomes obvious.
