Abstract: Women’s cyclicity is a construction based on various historical and cultural definitions of time, bodies and sexual difference. Theories from Antiquity (Jewish, Greek and Christian) have nurtured the menstrual imaginary from the Medieval Ages to the modernist novels of the twentieth century.
