Abstract: Various expressions present in the humanist tragedy constitute literal borrowings from Ronsard's work, borrowings which are distinguished from rewriting or imitation. In the simple form of the borrowing of words, these have had an important influence on the constitution of the tragic lexicon, via the mediation of authors such as Robert Garnier. In the more complex form of the borrowing of sentences, they invite the reader to appreciate the reuse of Ronsardian verses in a new context.
