  • Abstract: This short note offers a comparative analysis of the scene wherein the genealogy of the giants described in the first chapter of Gargantua is dug up, and of the episode of the discovery of the tomb of Laura de Noves in Avignon in 1533, narrated by Jean de Tournes in the introductory letter at the start of his edition of Il Petrarca (1545).
