Abstract: Beginning with the sentence by Joubert so often cited by Jean-Claude Pirotte (“First make yourself ‘places’”), this study illuminates the links between the biographical “je”, the lyric subject, and writing. The “lived” place in the work of Pirotte appears, in its polysemy, as the nodal point of spatial and discursive references and practices of citation which give meaning to the meeting between experience, aesthetics, and ethics.
