Abstract: In this homage to an “older brother of letters”, the novelist and cinematographer Philippe Claudel evokes his first taste of “Pirottie” with L’Épreuve du jour and his uninterrupted voyage ever since through these rainy, intimate landscapes, grey and showery, landscapes which we move through tirelessly, each at our own pace, those of real literature, “which rinses and washes us, baptises us and drowns us”.
