Abstract: Although explicit references are rare in Les Récits de la demi-brigade, the reader is constantly targeted, implicitly, by the narrative. The protagonist addresses an addressee who becomes the privileged witness of his investigations and the confidant of his moods. A complex network of signs solicits his collaboration : parentheses, irony, asides, narrative silences and art of ending are messages that target this invisible but omnipresent reader.
