Abstract: The aim of this article is to draw up an initial inventory of the presence of derivatives of French operas in German music periodicals published between 1765 and 1800, in the form of scores, advertisements or reviews. While the corpus shows the wider dissemination of Italian opera in the German-speaking world under the Ancien Régime, the attention paid to French operas and to current events in Parisian theatres increased significantly under the Revolution and the Consulate.
