Abstract: The technique of “Theatre-in-the-theatre” is a scenic challenge but also a translation one. This article focuses on the Greek translation by Andréas Staïkos of Les Acteurs de bonne foi. The translator’s strategy is based on the “Translation-in-the-translation”, or “nested translation”, a procedure similar to the priorities set by “Theatre-in-the-theatre”. The translator thus follows the Marivaudian “game” of exchanging roles and the logic of successive interlocking of “roles within roles”.
