Abstract: This article tackels the reception of Marivaux in Romania from three perspectives: historical, statistical and prospective. The examination of some historical antecedents, the synthetic presentation of the informations concerning marivaudian plays on Romanian stages, a brief description of three performances in Cluj and Bucharest as well as two recent experiences with two student troupes give us an overall picture on the reception of this author by the stage directors and the Romanian public.
