Abstract: The unusual career path of Pierre-Nicolas Sarrazin, is analysed to reveal the specifics of his professional practice and the quality of his social networks. A study of his multiple skills and varied activities reveals the the central part played by the owners of costume collections in the performance ecosystem of the Old Regime and the connections that the circulation of these valuable goods established between different types of performance.
