Abstract: Philippe Boesmans worked with Joël Pommerat on opera adaptations of two of his performances: Au monde (2014 La Monnaie/De Munt, Brussels) and Pinocchio (2017, Festival international d’art lyrique, Aix-en-Provence). The article successively examines the origin of two collaborations, the transfers in terms of time, art and culture, and the resonance between their artistic universes through the themes of birth, solitude and power of words.
