Abstract: This article aims to analyse the interpretation of Œdipal myth done by Henry Bauchau and Michèle Fabien in the second half of the 20th century. It tries to prove that the plays and novels written by the two Belgian authors are characterised both by the critique of traditional male axiology, focusing on the concepts of violence, power and paternity, and by the emergence of a new female system of values.
