Abstract: This contribution offers a transcript of an interview given by Jean-Claude Milner shortly after the publication towards the end of 2019 of his second book on Stéphane Mallarmé entitled Profils perdus de Stéphane Mallarmé.
After establishing how and when Milner first came to be interested in the poet’s work, the subsequent discussion tackles several important issues relating to the poet’s work which are still valid to-day.
