Abstract: Philosophy is peppered with polemics, sometimes violent and even lethal. One of the concerns of thought is also to repair, to piece back together the fragments of supposedly irremediable oppositions between great philosophers. This study aims to articulate the possibility of a reunion between Jean-Paul Sartre and Michel Foucault, focusing on the controversy in which they were locked in 1966, which found its place in the history of ideas under the rubric “the death of Man”.
