Abstract: In this paper, we aim at the socio-technological topology of a surveillance that we call conversational, because it is propaedeutic to online exchanges. Drawing on the notions of body image and face, we propose an innovative mapping of monitoring, synoptics and zones of surveillability. The conversational surveillance is transitional and gestural, visual and textual at the same time, because in it converge the actions visible on the screens and the actions that can be monitored in the public space outside the platforms.
