Abstract: The report directed by C. Villani is symptomatic in more than one respect: as a type of state literature, as a way of promoting the notion of AI, as a global label supposed to tell the whole story of the digital, as a discourse that presents itself as a narrative of innovation. The article shows how this report pursues the discursive exercise of naturalising ICTs that has been underway since at least the 1970s and that we characterise as an unthought, initially computer-based and now digital.
