  • Abstract: Despite the large literature on network visualizations, their graphic representation is generally not an object of investigation. Sometimes this deserves more attention, especially when individuals are depicted. Visually translating networked communities, for example, implies that some individuals are positioned at the edge of what is represented. This assumption seems unfair, especially if every individual in the community is connected to everyone else.
