  • Abstract: In A Vindication of the Rights of Men, Mary Wollstonecraft elaborates a response to Edmund Burke in terms of an opposition between justice and the status of aristocratic land property. Among the effects of landowners’ domination, one of the most pernicious is the oppression of women, which is legitimized by the use of the language of sensibility. This article aims to discuss Wollstonecraft’s analysis of the foundations and moral values of aristocratic society.
