Abstract: For Levinas, the suffering of the other is worth «reduction». However, if I cannot fully understand his suffering from my point of view, I need to start from mine to appreciate and find meaning in it. In this, it reveals a partly shared vulnerability. The implications in terms of ethics of care are then numerous and original.
