Abstract: The relationship with non-communicating people is a modality of care "extreme situations", questioning the definitions of the human being. The ultimate of the face designates this disturbing and uncanny otherness. How can one resist the temptation to exclude from humanity one in whom the usual attestations of the like no longer exist? It is at this point that a reading of Levinas can help us to think a relationship in the absence of reciprocity and the uncertainty of resemblance.
