Les textes réunis pour ce numéro s’articulent autour d’un paradoxe : le fait que l’imaginaire, qui expose pourtant à l’irréel, constitue un ingrédient nécessaire de l’action, qui nous inscrit dans le réel le plus concret. Partant de Bachelard, et des auteurs avec lesquels sa réflexion entre en résonance, il s’agit de montrer que l’imagination et la rêverie, loin de nous éloigner de la réalité et des impératifs de la « vraie vie », sont des ressorts indispensables de notre action dans le monde.

The texts gathered for this issue revolve around a paradox: the fact that the imaginary, which exposes yet to the unreal, is a necessary ingredient of the action, which inscribes us in the most concrete reality. From Bachelard, and authors with whom his thought come into resonance, it is about to show that the imagination and the reverie, far from being remote from the reality and the imperatives of the “real life”, are essential for our action in the world.

Rodolphe Calin, « Imagination et sincérité. La subjectivation du sujet par l’image chez Bachelard »

Cet article étudie le rapport entre le sujet et l’image poétique. Il s’agit de montrer que l’image, dans laquelle le moi se projette tout entier, n’en est pas le reflet, mais, à la faveur d’un mouvement de variation qui prend la forme d’une sublimation, ce qui lui permet de se constituer comme sujet.

This article focuses on the relation between the subject and poetic image. It aims at showing that the image, in which all the self is projected, is not just his reflect, but, thanks to a movement of variation that takes the form of a sublimation, what allows him to constitute himsef as a subject.

Julien Lamy, « Le perfectionnisme moral bachelardien »

Cette étude propose une lecture perfectionniste de Gaston Bachelard, cherchant à articuler la « vie bonne », comprise comme « promotion d’existence », avec la pratique d’exercices permettant une transformation concrète de l’individu, dans l’horizon d’un pluralisme cohérent des modes d’existence.

This study proposes a perfectionist reading of Gaston Bachelard, seeking to articulate the notion of “good life”, understood as the “promotion of existence”, with the practice of exercises allowing a concrete transformation of the individual, within the horizon of a coherent pluralism of lifestyles.

Arnaud Bouaniche, « Bachelard, Bergson et l’expérience de la nouveauté. Entre éthique et métaphysique »

Cette étude propose d’envisager la relation entre Gaston Bachelard et Henri Bergson à partir de l’expérience de la nouveauté. Il s’agit non seulement de distinguer deux conceptions métaphysiques de la nouveauté, mais surtout deux éthiques de la transformation, l’une centrée sur l’histoire, l’autre sur le cosmos.

This study proposes to consider the relationship between Gaston Bachelard and Henri Bergson based on the experience of novelty. Cet article montre comment Gaston Bachelard trace les linéaments d’une philosophie de l’action inédite, qui fait de la rêverie une fonction poético-pratique décisive, et le foyer central d’une poétique de l’initiative renouvelant – à la faveur d’un dialogue croisé avec Henri Bergson et Jean-Paul Sartre – l’approche classique de la liberté comme acte de commencer.

This article shows how Gaston Bachelard traces the lineaments of a new philosophy of action, making reverie a decisive poetic-practical function, and making it possible to elaborate a poetics of initiative, which renews the classical approach to freedom as an act of beginning.

À partir de ces questions préjudicielles, cette étude s’attache à préciser ce que pourrait être une « praxis des images » au triple sens d’une activité, d’une éthique et d’une politique des images.

Partant des liens qui unissent l’homo faber, l’imagination et le travail chez Gaston Bachelard, cette étude détermine en quel sens les approches bachelardiennes font de ce philosophe un témoin et un interprète des sociétés préindustrielles, mais aussi de manière générale du travail de la main.
