Abstract: This paper defends the possibility of identifying not only one, but two tiers of opposition between the concepts of the right and of the good, and then of thinking their recombination on the normative plan. It specifically examines the way Thomas Nagel establishes such a recombination, in a liberal and egalitarian perspective close to Rawls’s one but through a distinct and original method. Nonetheless his approach requires one to rethink the links between morals and politics.
