Abstract: The sociology of The Two Sources is manifest above all in Bergson’s political thought. It is well known that Bergson’s starting point is his analysis of closed societies, which reveals both their constraining structure and their tendancy towards agnosticism. To speak about the naturalness of war requires one to distinguish two distinct levels within closed societies, one cultural, the other natural. This article try to rehabilitate, from a Bergsonian point of view, a certain concept of the nation, arising from the experience of the First World War.
