Abstract: Philosophical anarchism is often associated with nihilism. But its destruction of the theoretical foundations of politics is better seen as accompanied by political scepticism, which in turn depends on a use of negation of which Marx and Engels were unaware. This negation does not at all entail the exclusion of either the reality or the sense of practical activity.
