This triple volume of Encomia, covering 2016-2018, represents the third volume to be published in a conveniently searchable online format. The present volume also marks the end of this bibliographic bulletin, in accordance with the decision reached during the General Assembly of the 2019 ICLS Triennial Congress. The reasons for this outcome are detailed in my report that appears in the section “16th Triennial Conference.”

I have been wholeheartedly engaged in the compilation of Encomia since 1985, first as a contributor for the North American Branch, then as bibliographic correspondent of that branch, and finally, as editor of the whole publication. My work on Encomia enabled me to establish valuable connections with senior scholars during my early years in the profession and has kept me up to date on research in courtly literature to the present day. It is thus with considerable regret that I find myself in the position of being the last editor. As a tribute to the publication and to those who founded it, I asked Glyn Burgess if he would be kind enough to write a brief reflection on the creation of Encomia, in which he was personally involved, and its importance to research on courtly literature. I thank him for agreeing to this request and for composing such a fitting tribute to all that Encomia has contributed to scholarship since the 1970s.

To the branches of the International Courtly Literature Society that supplied entries for this final volume, I offer my deepest thanks. And to all of the bibliographers, coordinators, and bibliographical correspondents whose hard work and commitment ensured the success of Encomia over so many years, my profound gratitude.
