LLEWELLYN, Kathleen M. “At Play in the Fields and Playing the Field: The Débat amoureux in the Pastourelle and the Heptaméron.” Parergon 27.1 (2010): 105-124.

The débat amoureux between a shepherdess and her suitor in the Pastourelle provides a possible precedent for the more complex and longer débat in the novellas and the conversation framing them in Marguerite de Navarres Heptaméron. It is shown that the collection of novellas inherited from the medieval narrative pastourelles. [GMC]
