Abstract: The Armenian State of Cilicia and its royal court were created during the twelfth century. In his letter to Prince Lewon, Nersēs de Lambrun offers the first references to the royal palace of Cilicia. In this document, the author replies to the accusations from the doctors of Eastern Armenia against the bishop of Tarsus. King Lewon wanted to create a palace similar to the Byzantine palaces and those of the European feudal States, but with an openness to all the religious denominations of the region.
