Abstract: How is gender deployed in francophone literature in France today? The question beckons us to recall the feminist origin of what is known as gender studies as much as it does to define the conceptual tool that is gender. Mixing gender and literature allows us to reflect on the way we work on or with gender in literature and also to ask ourselves “how to do genre studies in literature” in order to offer an overview of the current uses of critique.
