  • Abstract: Following the work of Karine Espineira and Maud-Yeuse Thomas, this article examines the representation of trans people in four television series: Butterfly, First Day, Louis(e), Transparent. The analysis shows that the portrayals remain stereotypical (notably through the use of prosthetics and certain elements of language) and influenced by the cis gaze (Fabre). Nevertheless, it appears that the signs sometimes undermine the gender system. These are, however, only micro-disruptions.
