Abstract: The “digital transition” has rekindled interest in questions of technique, a subject long sidelined in audiovisual studies. Taking a diverse range of perspectives, the researchers in this volume explore the possible impacts of the evolution of machines on the different stages of filmmaking, as well as the links to be drawn between the history of techniques and the history of forms.
