. Les objets sonnants au cinéma
  • Author: Fontanel (Rémi)
  • Abstract: This article analyses the particular role of sounding objects (coffee machine, trolley, pinball machine, etc.) in Claire Denis’ cinema outside of traditional informational or descriptive functions, in order to understand how the filmmaker, starting from the predominant place of music in her work, thinks of a "sound space" by experimenting with new combinations of noise and music, which contribute to build the "plastic narrative" of her films.
