Abstract: Whenever the translator moves away from the level of the signifier in the source language and, by doing so, focuses further on the target language, he first has to face the milestone of constructing the meaning of the source text. The translator’s task, once he is no longer subject to the source signifier, is to rise to the challenge of producing a target text while assuming the risk of creation.
